Description
A gas heater is essential for chilly trips
While a gas stove is a common companion on a hike, those trekking in cooler weather should also consider a gas heater. If you hike in cold temperatures, the small and compact MIL-TEC gas heater is indispensable for warming an open shelter or a hunting and hiking hut. We don’t recommend the device for heating small tents, as fire safety and sufficient ventilation must be ensured.
Lightweight but powerful
While the gas heater itself weighs about 330g, the gas canister adds another equal amount, making the total weight around 630g. Small dimensions and low weight allow you to pack the gas heater and canister conveniently into your hiking backpack. The heater comes with a detailed manual, a storage bag, and stabilizer feet for the gas canister. No matches are needed to light it, as it features a built-in electric igniter.
The gas heater is made of aluminum and high-quality stainless steel. The device works by converting gas flame energy into heat, radiating it in the desired direction like an oven.
Dimensions approx. 15cm x 15cm x 14 cm.
The gas heater is equipped with a protective grill to help prevent accidental burns. The heating power is adjustable via the gas valve, allowing you to choose the right heat level and control gas consumption.
Use high-quality gas
The gas used in the heater must comply with the European standard EN417, which covers non-refillable metallic canisters for liquefied petroleum gases. The standard specifies material, construction, inspection, and marking requirements for canisters with or without valves for use with portable appliances that meet EN521 standards.
A 200-300 gram gas canister with a threaded nozzle is best for the gas heater. You can find suitable gas here. The threaded valve ensures safety and prevents excessive gas leakage when connecting or disconnecting the device. This camping gas contains a mixture of butane and propane.
