Your feet are every hiker’s most valuable tools, whether the hike is one or a thousand kilometers long. That’s why it’s crucial that your footwear is comfortable and high-quality. Alongside standard hiking boots, tactical hiking boots like these are also used. Tactical boots are designed to provide high performance and protection in harsh environments and conditions.
Like many things called “tactical,” these boots are primarily inspired by standard military equipment and clothing. Combat boots must be durable enough to withstand active use while giving the wearer’s feet and ankles enough flexibility. To achieve this, these boots are made with a natural leather upper and a hard rubber outsole.
Tactical hiking boots are becoming increasingly popular due to their comfort and durability in tougher conditions.
Which hiking boot features should you look for?
Material quality: these boots are designed for use in various terrain conditions. Whether it’s a forest trail, rocky surface, sand dunes, or a muddy swamp. A solid tread and outsole material provide a strong anti-slip grip.
Insole: like running shoes, almost all hiking boots now feature soft and breathable insoles. This ensures comfort, light weight, and easy maintenance. The insole is removable/replaceable.
Support: higher shafts secure the foot, reducing the likelihood of ankle injuries while on the move.
Water resistance: as the boots are designed for various conditions, they offer a certain level of water resistance. However, in heavy rain or when wading through streams, there’s a risk that the boots may sacrifice some breathability.
Breathability: panels made of synthetic mesh and other fabrics ensure good breathability.

The boots are equipped with a removable POLIYOU® foam insole (ISO-9001), which has antibacterial, breathable, and moisture-wicking properties. The footwear is made of abrasion- and tear-resistant 1200D polyester and full-grain leather for enhanced wearing comfort.
The dual-layer sole absorbs shocks and ensures good grip when moving on uneven terrain.
PATROL hiking boots have a high shaft, which significantly reduces the chance of spraining an ankle on uneven ground and prevents water from entering over the top.

Tellisin Teilt Matkasaapad MIL-TEC Patrol. Saapad sain kätte 10. november ja olen neid sellest ajast saadik ka kasutanud.
Selle perioodi sisse on jäänud vihmased, lumised, külmad ja lögased ilmad. Olen käinud saabastega kõikjal – lapsega kelgutamas, lund lükkamas, tööl nii kontoris kui ka objektidel. Saapa lukkusid tõmban mõnel päeval mitmeid kordi… tuppa, õue, tuppa õue jne.
Minult on paljud kolleegid ja sõbrad küsinud, kas olen saabastega rahul ja sellest ka minu kiri. Ma olen ülirahul – need saapad ega lukud pole näidanud mingeid kulumise märke, mu jalad on alati soojad ja kuivad. Kui just terve päeva lumehanges ei seisa, siis pole ka -15 kraadiga vajadust soojade sisetaldade või misiganes termosokkidele. Lisaks minu subjektiivne arvamus ja esialgne põhjus ka need saapad osta – need näevad üli-head välja. Kui peaksin valima oma aasta ostu, siis tiitli saavad kindlalt need samad saapad.
Ma olen terve elu käinud aastaringselt tossudega (olen mõnel aastal ikka saapad ostnud ka, kuid pole neid kunagi eriti kasutanud, sest neid on ebamugavad jalga panna või nad lihtsalt ei istu mu jalaga). Praegu tundub, et oma ülejäänud elu käin ma enamuse aastast nende saabastega ja loodan, et nad peavad veel kaua-kaua vastu.
